Agnostic pantheist
I never knew agnostic pantheism was a thing.
Years after I embarked on the fools journey IE the journey of self-discovery I reached the point where a new identity became imperative. Carrying on with an outdated and limiting concept of what god is was becoming a burden. Had experienced a mental (paradigm) shift hence maintaining the status quo was no longer possible.
God as I see it
As a child I always had a curious thought, “What is bigger than god?” An aspect of life that also piqued my interest and bothered me much were the social inequalities I observed around me.
Today my concept of god has undergone a drastic change from what religion imposed and taught me. There are cultures the world over who declare that god is unknowable (awamaridi), this stance isn’t popular in the modern world but I happily agree with it and this is why:
god is x (an unknown factor). I am not a scientist however (this of course is my lay opinion) the farther science goes at showing the workings of our world and the universe the more glaring it is that god is unknowable. We just can’t seem to get to the bottom of the riddle. The harder we try using scientific methods the more it (god) seems to elude us. – I don’t mean that we should stop trying in fact I sense it is all in the game – the game of life or existence that is. Our inquisitiveness is what has brought us thus far.
Those who subscribe to an anthropomorphic god need to get something straight, having a numinous experience should not be equated with “knowing” — what the first cause is. Also admitting not knowing isn’t weakness and doesn’t make one a sinner
The monotheist professes faith in a personal god and perceive a divergence between his belief and science on the contrary as a student of the custodians of perennial wisdom I see only a convergence between science and esoterism.
Nature is intriguing & vast, its grandeur is— mind boggling. I find the night sky captivating, on a clear night when stars and planets are visible to the naked eyes looking as far as my limited human vision allows a melody deep at my core is stirred and I can’t help but pay obeisance to nature acknowledging her power and beauty
……And at full moon taking in the charm and beauty of the goddess stirs my soul to a dance again in awe I pay obeisance. The monotheist says it is idolatry and foolishness, if merging my being with a force that is greater than I qualify as foolish— so then be it.
There are days when I sit in meditation connecting with the observer within I find myself floating into worlds that resemble those images relayed to earth via radio waves as captured by HST . And when I come to; in that silence I acknowledge and I affirm what my long gone ancestors knew that infinite: all that is, whatever is behind both the visible and invisible worlds is indeed UNKNOWN. Whoever says otherwise is either ignorant or a blatant liar.
The cosmos is infinitude— eternal. Its sheer magnificence is indescribable as it is inexplicable. watch an episode of cosmos Carl Sagan , Neil deGrasse Tyson to catch my drift. Dogmas and doctrines are nonsense in the face of the sheer wonders that the Hubble Space Telescope(HST) captures and relays to earth
After I decided I was agnostic in one regard and pantheistic in another, Out of cheer curiosity I checked if such a term agnostic pantheist existed. Turns out it does.—I was well amused .The foregoing is my personal conception of the term and may be slightly varied from Wikipedia’s definition
The mind is the final frontier
